A Look At the Hermes Spring Summer 2015 Collection

There was a peaceful feeling in the air at the Hermes Spring Summer Fashion Show. The runway resembled a beach with a plain white curtain in the background. A yellow light lit the curtain before the models walked down the runway. Initially, Christophe Lemaire’s last show for Hermes seemed to be in neutral. Several models started the show wearing neutral shades of taupe and cream. Indeed, the first model wore a Moroccan-inspired long tunic over cream pants. The Ready to Wear collection was heavy on ankle-length pants and shoes with ties around the ankles.

The models all wore long, flowing hair with minimal makeup. There were a lot of kimono-style coats worn over long, flowing dresses. When every one was getting used to the neutrals, a model appeared wearing a mustard-colored tunic over ankle pants. A lot of variety was on display in the designer’s choice of necklines. Further, the Hermes Spring Summer 2015 Collection had a touch of menswear inspiration. Models wore suits with loose pants and loose masculine jackets. One of the Fashion trends by designer Lemaire was the use of Hermes’ scarf prints for dresses and skirts. With jazzy music in the background, the models sashayed in outfits featuring geometric prints. One top had so many diamond shapes it resembled an argyle sweater. It was a camel shade and was paired with cream pants.

The designer surprised the audience. Outfits in shades of blue, wine, orange and pink turned up. A one-shouldered pink dress was a stand out. Likewise, a mixture of textures was highlighted with a gray, leather skirt worn with a black silk top. There was also a black leather shirt worn with skinny black cigarette pants. The wide-sash belt was a popular accessory. The sash belt cinched the waist of dresses and coats. It was nice to see looks that demonstrated different skirt lengths. In addition to short skirts, there were lots of midi-length dresses and skirts. Another highlight was a menswear-inspired navy suit. The boxy jacket was worn with cigarette pants and a black silk shirt. Of course, many models accessorized looks with signature Hermes handbags. For Hermes’ fans, this show was a must-see.
