Michael Kors Spring Summer 2016 Collection

The setting for the Michael Kors Spring Summer Fashion Show was plain, a direct contrast to the clothing. Kors is known for his men’s’ wear-inspired designs. However, the recent collection softened the tailored looks by adding very feminine touches. The show took place in a room with plain off-white walls and matching floors. The models wore very pale makeup and messy buns. Models with longer hair put part of their hair in a messy bun and the rest hung down.

Michael Kors Spring Summer 2016 Collection is a stunning mixture of fabrics, colors, and styles. Many of the same designs were shown in different lengths from short to maxi. One of the highlights of the collection was a tailored off-white suit with a long robe-style jacket. Kors used a lot of unexpected touches like pleats and embroidery. Many of the designs featured floral embroidered accents. Also, there were several sheer blouses and dresses. A tiered, sheer lace skirt was very fetching. The same skirt was shown paired with a cinched-waist tailored jacket. The use of color was brilliant. Imagine, pairing a black peasant blouse with a rose floral-embroidered skirt. Likewise, Kors showed a beige linen skirt with a bright orange peasant blouse. Most of the collection featured pale pastel colors like yellow and light blue.

It was refreshing to see the peasant blouse used in a variety of ways. Additionally, the circular midi skirts were a nice surprise. The types of material used in the Spring Summer show included linen, silk, and charmeuse. Belts were used for two purposes, as an accessory and to cinch the waist of most outfits. Other accessories included cross-body bags with long straps. Indeed, many of the bags fell to the models’ knees. The shoes of choice were leather wedge sandals with ankle straps. Designs from the men’s’ wear collection featured casual suits in shades from beige to black. The mens’ clothes were also shown with sandals. Evening wear looks included Grecian-inspired gowns with pleated bottoms. Further, the designer showed how a woman makes a pleated or ruffled skirt look urban, pair it with a sleeveless tee. This collection has something for everyone and is not to be missed.
